I am a Nurse Practitioner and founder of Bridgeport Wellness Center in Bridgeport, West Virginia. I consider myself a West Virginia native, as I was raised in Taylor County, West Virginia since I was 7 years old and have spent most of my life here. I graduated from Grafton High School in 2012 and proudly attended Fairmont State University for my nursing education. When I returned to school for my Masters, I left the state briefly for 2 years in order to graduate with my Master’s in Nursing as a Family Nurse Practitioner. I eagerly returned to the mountain state shortly after graduation… You know what they say, Once a Mountaineer, Always a Mountaineer
Not only am I a healthcare provider, I am also a healthcare consumer. I, too, have become frustrated with our broken healthcare system and have even thought to myself, “Wow, my doctor spends more time typing on the computer during my appointment than he does listening to my concerns.”
My goal in opening my own primary care practice is to provide greater access to healthcare at a more affordable cost. I believe in an alternative model called Direct Primary Care, which allows providers to spend as much time as necessary with their patients, allows patients to feel heard and listened to, and eliminates many of the common frustrations that our traditional healthcare delivery model causes.
